MY SERVICES
Therapists tend to work from different schools of thought depending on
their training, experience and own personalities. I tend to work from
the following schools of thought, but not exclusively. Ultimately, I
utilize whatever tools necessary to help you accomplish your goals.

GESTALT THERAPY
This is a holistic therapy that focuses on the total person,
recognizing the unity of the mind, body, emotions, and spirit which was developed
by Frederick (Fritz) Perls. Gestalt deals with what is happening in the
“here and now”. It helps you to become aware of the internal battle in
your head, embrace the parts of yourself that are painful and to help
you integrate all the parts to wholeness. Gestalt therapy helps you to
become aware of “unfinished business” from the past and how those
conflicts interfere with relationships in all other areas of your life today
(for more information go to http://www.gestaltcleveland.org/aboutus.html).
NEURO EMOTIONAL TECHNIQUE (NET)
Dr. Scott Walker developed NET in the early 1980s. He developed using specific reflex points and correlations of emotions from ancient acupuncture meridians to help the patient focus on a particular emotion. Using muscle testing, he was also able to assist the patient in quickly pinpointing the original incident that gave rise to the emotionally-triggered conditioned response. He theorized that once these had been identified, he might be able to correct the emotional imbalance simply by having the patient think about the incident (go to www.netmindbody.com for more information).
Some issues require a more eclectic approach involving several modalities and I have found Gestalt therapy works hand in hand with NET.
WOMEN IN RECOVERY
For women in recovery, I also utilize a “12 Step” focus, “working a program” focus and implementing a “spiritual awareness” program.
